ABOUT ANDY MORRIS – BRINGING CREATIVITY TO THE TABLE
Andy Morris – or A7 as he is known in the arts community – is an artist at heart. “Throughout my life, creativity has been the thread that weaves it all together”, he explains. He recently graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design, and has a passion for a diverse range of media, including painted, sculptural, electronic, and video elements.
In addition to obtaining his Bachelor of Fine Arts, Andy also has an education in computer science, and professional experience in information technology and systems analysis. When the Ottawa IT market began its downward spiral, he decided it was time to change his career path. He quit his job in Ottawa and moved to Toronto to raise money for his arts education, a passion of his since childhood. After a few short months in Toronto, he made the choice to study at the Ontario College of Art and Design, and relocated to Toronto with his wife. In September of 2003, he started as a full-time student in the Arts Degree stream, and recently graduated with an Integrated Media major. Using a diverse range of media, including painted, sculptural, electronic, and video elements, Andy is currently creating a variety of video art installations and single channel videos in his hometown of Ottawa.
Andy created Hotcakes New Media in 2008, and formed partnerships with the best talent in a diverse range of fields in order to bring a well-rounded product to his customers.
ABOUT DAVID JAEGGIN – AN EYE FOR DETAIL
A Kanata resident his whole life, David has been involved with the local television industry in Ottawa since his graduation from the Television/Broadcasting Program at Algonquin College in 2001. Volunteering his services as a cameraperson for Rogers Cable 22 and working in studio with CBC on such shows as MUSICWORKS, he decided he wanted to take his passion for video and film production a little further and made his way to Rockport, Maine, USA to the International Film Workshops. There he worked on a crash course of short film productions where he wrote and directed two of his own. One of films, a 16 mm short called “Need a Ride”, was showcased at Light Plays Tricks, a short film festival in Kingston, Ontario. David has gone on to work on various professional film sets in the Ottawa area, including Decoys and The Perfect Husband starring acclaimed actor Michael Riley.
Taking his experience in the Television and Film industry, David ventured to independently write, direct and edit his own short film, “REAL”, which is currently in postproduction. Also a member of IFCO (Independent Filmmakers Cooperative Ottawa) and a university graduate with a BA in Psychology, David brings enthusiasm, spontaneity and creativity to all his projects.
